Pastors’ Aides

PASTORS’ AIDES

The Pastors’ Aides are a group of 21 church members who work under the direction of the Pastor and Associate Pastor to provide loving care and assistance to the church family in times of need.   The Pastors’ Aides work in teams of two and three on a weekly rotating schedule. They make visits, phone calls, send notes, cards and prepare food for those who need care due to illness or other circumstances.   At times when needed, they provide transportation to doctors’ appointments, cancer treatments and Sunday worship services. There are six Food Guilds who work with the Pastors’ Aides to provide assistance to church families at the time of a death in the family.   Church members living at the Presbyterian Community, the Methodist Manor, Morningside and Elmcroft are remembered by the Pastors’ Aides in various ways.

Christmas Project

The Pastors’ Aides prepared baskets Wednesday morning, December 9, for those in our church family who are alone at Christmas.  Bob Kearns made pictures of a portion of our goodies and of some of those who helped assemble.  They were loaded with tasty items and beautiful devotional books.  A personal note to each recipient on the church’s Christmas note cards was also included.  Thank you to Jane Wheeler for furnishing the baskets, plastic wrapping and ribbon.  Thanks to all of the pastors’ aides for their love, care and devotion to our church family!  Pictures are courtesy of Bob Kearns.
