SAPs Go Bowling

Who are these "SAPs"????  Well ... read on!!! SAPs (Singles and Professionals)

Ashley Koontz and Kate Davis had the idea to start a singles group with the purpose of allowing single adults to find Christian friends in the Hartsville area with similar interests. The original "theme" was "Finding Faithful Friends in Fellowship." Their hope is to establish meaningful friendships between single and professional men and women from ages 20ish to 50ish. They felt that some in this age group often don't fit into most fellowship groups and can be easily overlooked. Their first community-wide meeting was Dec. 5, 2010, when they met at the Midnight Rooster to meet and mingle. They had a great turnout of 13 attendees! They also enjoyed dinner together at Rancho Grande on January 28th, 2011. Recently, they changed the name to SAPs (Singles and Professionals).

Their latest outing was to the All Star Lanes in Florence for a fun night of bowling. The group of five (Brent Freeman, Ashley Koontz, Norma Shepard, Meg Norwood, Kate Davis) bowled two games. Brent won both without a problem. All players could boast that they bowled at least one strike (impressive, huh!?), except for Brent, who "schooled" the other four. For the second game, the gutter bumpers were used, just for kicks and giggles, and Brent had a little bit more competition. She pulled through with a score of over 120! A great time was had by all!

The goal of the SAPs is to meet about every month. The next meeting is not scheduled yet, but more information is to come. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact Kate Davis at or Ashley Koontz at This group is not limited to FPC of Hartsville. They welcome friends throughout the community!
