Habitat for Humanity News for 1-7-13
Two big events happened today, January 7, 2013, in the world of Darlington County Habitat for Humanity. First, the home on Myrtle St that has been under construction, was finished. The home owner is to close the loan with Habitat in the next few days; then she and her family can move into the three bedroom and two bath home. FPC was part of the construction process. We installed the wood trim (baseboards, shoe molding, door molding), the doors, the kitchen cabinets, the appliances, and the attic stairs. Also we prepared the yard. Below is a photo of the finished home and a photo of the home owner saying "Thank You".
Second, we provided lunch to a group of volunteers from Lewinsville Presbyterian Church (located outside Washington, DC). This group of teenagers and two adults are starting construction of a new Habitat home on Heatley St. The lunch was prepared by Wickie and Jane Wheeler. There are two photos below showing the group during lunch.
