About Us
First Presbyterian Church is a PCUSA congregation, and a member church of the Presbytery of New Harmony. The church is located near the downtown area of Hartsville, SC. We currently have approximately 480 members, and an operating budget of $629,000. The church is growing in membership and programming.
Our music program is one of the finest in the area. We have choirs for all ages from pre-school to adult. Handbells for youth and adults are also available.
Mission and service is a major part of church life. You will find our members rebuilding homes in New Orleans, rehabilitating homes with Christmas in April, and volunteering with the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. They will be working at the Hartsville Soup Kitchen, delivering Christmas baskets, and raising funds for Relay for Life. Others will be serving in congregational care, or providing handy person help. We also support missionaries.
We educate our youth with an onsite pre-school program, a prayer breakfast on Wednesday, Church School and Sunday evening activities. There are also many activities for folks of all ages.
First Presbyterian is led by dedicated elders, pastors and staff. We welcome all to join with us in worship and service.
