About the Pastor’s Aides
The Pastor’s Aides are church members who work under the direction of the Pastor to provide loving care and assistance to church members in times of need. The Pastor’s Aides work in teams of two or three with a weekly rotating schedule. They make telephone calls, visit members, send notes and cards, and prepare food for those who need care due to illness or other circumstances. The Pastor’s Aides provide transportation to doctors’ appointments, treatments, and Sunday worship services. Church members who live at the Presbyterian Community, the Methodist Manor, Morningside, Elmcroft, and other out of town facilities are remembered weekly by the Pastor’s Aides.
Six food Guilds work with the Pastor’s Aides to provide food and assistance to church families at the time of a death in the family.
The Pastor’s Aides participate in an annual Christmas project of preparing and delivering baskets to older members in the church family, especially those who are alone at Christmas have health issues or who have provided many hours of service to our church. The baskets are filled with food items, devotional books, and miscellaneous personal items. A personal note to each recipient is also included.
The church is blessed to have Pastor’s Aides who willingly provide love, care, and devotion to the church family.
