Susie Burnes
Pastoral Resident
Susie is deeply dedicated to nurturing congregational life and supporting the Body of Christ through relationship-centered ministry. Her greatest joy lies in walking alongside communities of faith as they live into their baptismal vows and discern new expressions of God’s presence in the world. Grounded in passion, creativity, and pastoral care, she strives to walk with others through the joyful and difficult work of Christian life together. Her background in ministry, event design, and nonprofit leadership has shaped a unique skill set marked by vision, excellence, and a deep love for the Church.
Susie is married to Wade DuBose Burns and has three adult children—Megan, Connor, and Scott—and two grandchildren, Ava Grace and Alonzo.
Susie and her husband, Wade, will be joining us from Montreat, NC, where she has served for the last 17 years. She is completing her Master of Divinity at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Charlotte, NC, and is scheduled to graduate in June 2026. She is currently under care at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church in the Presbytery of Western North Carolina.
